The goal of Wise Aging is to discover the possibilities for living the years ahead with joy, resilience and spirit. Jewish texts, poetry, secular writing, prayer, meditation and contemplative listening are all tools used in this program to challenge participants to develop their own sense of what it means to ‘number our days’ and ‘grow a heart of wisdom.’ Sessions are based on resources developed for the Institute for Jewish Spirituality by Rabbi Rachel Cowan and Dr. Linda Thal, and primarily on Wise Aging: Living with Joy, Resilience, and Spirit.
Participants in Wise Aging groups have called the experience transformative:
“My fear of aging has become eagerness to embrace the challenges and possibilities of the years ahead.”
