"There is a set moment for every event under the sun:
A time to be born, and a time to die. . .”
On the journey between birth and death, each of the “events under the sun” of which Ecclesiastes speaks, whether joyous or tragic, finds us turning a corner nto a new and uncharted chapter of our lives. It is comforting to know that we don’t have to negotiate that tenuous journey alone. At every kind of turning-point in our lives we have the company, solace and support of our neighbors in the Jewish community. By their presence at the sacred moments of your life, our clergy represent not only the richness and wisdom of our fabulously ancient tradition but also the good wishes and compassionate support of every member of our Congregation.

To report a hospitalization or a recent or imminent death, please call the Temple Office at 314-569-0010 and ask for Melissa Alper, or email her at [email protected] We will try to have a member of our clergy visit the hurt or ill as soon as possible.
If the deceased person for whom you are inquiring has a Perpetual Memorial at Shaare Emeth, we will automatically read the person's name during Friday and Saturday Kadish. These names are also published in the proper issue of The Bulletin.
If the deceased person does not have a yahrzeit at Shaare Emeth, we are still happy to read the name any week you would like. Please contact Melissa Alper in the clergy's office and request the name be added to the yahrzeit list for whatever date. You can reach Melissa at 314-569-0010 or [email protected]
